Back in January my partner proposed, quite unexpectedly. So now we have a wedding to plan. We have booked all the big things; venue, celebrant, band etc. but these are all coming at a cost…a huge cost. You tag the word ‘wedding’ onto something and you instantly have a licence to print money! So, what I am trying to do is to make some savings by making as much as I can myself (hence the ‘handmade wedding’ title). Now I’m certainly not even going to attempt to make my own dress. Firstly, I don’t have the skills and secondly, I don’t need that kind of pressure. But when it comes to decorating tables and wedding favours etc, I’m going to have a go. I’m even having a go at making my own bouquet, but instead of real flowers, I’m going to crochet them. This way, I can save some money and have a bouquet that I can keep. I’ll keep you posted on the progress. We’ll see how it goes. Here’s a picture of the first rose.
