Hello crafty people!

Hello crafty people. This is my new website and I’m trying this whole blogging malarkey. This is a new concept to me, as, other than using facebook and occasionally twitter, I have never blogged before. I mean, who wants to hear what I’ve got to say? Even on facebook and twitter I don’t say much. If you look at my personal facebook page you will see that it is very cat heavy. There’s not much personal stuff on there at all. I do like cats; I love how much they hate us but manage to manipulate us into these doting, soppy idiots.

I digress. I intend on writing regularly with all sorts of things like, new crafting techniques I’ve tried, new materials, new products, things that have inspired me and I’m sure lots of random things that made me feel like writing. I apologise for the way I write right now, so I don’t have to do it again. I’m not a writer. I can’t say that I excelled at English in school. I was more mathematically minded. I’m an engineer by trade, don’t you know. Some might think that there’s no correlation between my engineering career and crafting, but actually with both, you have to be creative and able to solve problems.

I’ve always enjoyed making things. I started with cross stitch and more recently my mum showed me how to crochet, which I love. It’s so immediate when you compare it to knitting. I’m very impatient, which is weird for a crafty person to say, I know. About 6 years ago, I took a silversmithing course which I really enjoyed and since then I have had a fascination with jewellery. I came across the shrinky dink idea a couple of years ago and it combines 3 things I love; jewellery, drawing and tiny things. I have this real obsession with miniature stuff.

That’s enough for now I think. Stay tuned for more nonsense from me. Bye for now.
